The Department of Revenue Tax Division is recruiting for a Tax Technician 1/2/3 in Anchorage!
This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check ourresidency definitionto determine if you qualify.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Examine gaming financial statements tax returns license and permit applications and bonding documents for accuracy completeness and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide customer service by assisting taxpayers permittees and licensees with filing requirements online portal questions and general inquiries.
- Process and reconcile cash deposits prepare deposit documentation and ensure accurate recording in division systems.
- Support program operations by reviewing incoming documents issuing permits and notices and assisting with corrections and routine compliance actions.
- Contribute to consistent program administration by applying policies identifying issues and referring complex questions or filings to senior staff when needed.

Tax Technician 2
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in- Arithmetic/Mathematical Reasoning: Performs computations such as addition subtraction multiplication and division correctly; solves practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of mathematical techniques such as formulas and percentages.
- Computer Skills: Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.

Tax Technician 3
