As a Tax/Senior Manager you will play a key leadership role in managing client relationships overseeing complex tax engagements and mentoring staff all while helping shape the continued growth and success of our firm.

This position is a hybrid position located in Syracuse NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a front-line client advisor developing strong lasting relationships with clients and ensuring the highest quality in service delivery and compliance.
• Lead complex tax planning and strategy engagements offering innovative and practical solutions to minimize tax liabilities and achieve client goals.
• Review and evaluate tax research methodology and conclusions to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Represent clients during IRS audits administrative hearings and other regulatory interactions.
• Collaborate with Partners on practice development management and strategic initiatives to support firm growth.
• Represent the firm within professional and community organizations strengthening our presence and reputation.
• Oversee Tax Department scheduling and workload management to ensure efficient operations.
• Mentor and develop Tax Staff In-Charges and Supervisors fostering a culture of learning accountability and professional advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience 7 years or more for Senior Tax Manager preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (Masters in Taxation preferred).
• Active CPA license required.
• Demonstrated commitment to exceptional client service and professional integrity.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
• Highly organized detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive strategic mindset.
