Role Overview
The Tax Manager will lead and manage tax compliance for a publicly traded REIT with primary responsibility for REIT qualification partnership tax reporting and multi-state compliance. This role is heavily execution- and review-focused ensuring accurate and timely filings across a complex entity structure.

The Tax Manager will lead and manage tax compliance for a publicly traded REIT with primary responsibility for REIT qualification partnership tax reporting and multi-state compliance. This role is heavily execution- and review-focused ensuring accurate and timely filings across a complex entity structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage REIT compliance including preparation and review of quarterly and annual REIT testing and distribution requirements
- Oversee preparation and review of federal and multi-state REIT and partnership tax returns including tiered structures and operating partnerships
- Review Schedule K-1s allocations and investor reporting
- Ensure timely filing of REIT partnership and corporate tax returns extensions and estimated payments
- Coordinate multi-state compliance including composite filings and withholding requirements
- Manage internal tax team and external tax advisors and review deliverables
- Respond to tax notices audits and information requests
- Partner with accounting legal and investment teams on tax-related inquiries and to ensure accurate tax reporting data
