Job Summary
Glen Raven is recruiting for a Tax Director which is responsible for leading the organizations global tax strategy compliance and reporting activities. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal state local and international tax laws while optimizing the companys tax position and supporting overall business objectives. The Tax Director serves as a key advisor to senior leadership on tax related matters risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the companys overall tax strategy ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance.
- Manage all income tax compliance activities including federal state local and international tax matters.
- Review and approve federal state and local tax returns ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Responsibility for processing federal state and local quarterly estimates and payments as applicable.
- Responsibility for preparation and review of income tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. ASC 740).
- Lead indirect tax compliance including sales and use tax VAT and other transactional taxes as applicable.
- Advise leadership on tax planning initiatives related to mergers acquisitions divestitures restructurings and other strategic transactions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts to the organization; communicate implications to leadership.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external tax advisors auditors and taxing authorities.
- Review and manage all responses to tax notices.
- Manage tax audits and examinations including responding to information requests and negotiating resolutions.
- Drive global tax planning initiatives including transfer pricing strategies international tax compliance while optimizing the companys tax position across jurisdictions.
- Lead mentor and develop tax team members fostering a highâperformance and compliant tax function.
- Support crossâfunctional partners (Finance Legal HR Supply Chain) on taxârelated matters and business initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required; a Masters degree in Taxation strongly preferred.
- CPA license is required.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive tax experience including leadership responsibility.
- Experience in public accounting and/or large corporate tax environments preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with federal state local and international tax compliance and planning.
- Expert knowledge of federal state local and international tax regulations.
- Strong leadership coaching and team development skills.
- Excellent analytical problemâsolving and decisionâmaking abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to nonâtax stakeholders.
- High level of integrity professionalism and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with tax research tools and financial systems (e.g. ERP and tax provision software) including AI applications.
