As a Tank Project Manager you will play a key role in realizing our ambitions while building both the future of Vopak and your own.
Your Mission
As a Tank Project Manager you are responsible for independently overseeing a robust portfolio of up to 25 Tank Maintenance Projects annually representing a critical segment of the Sustaining CapEx Projects Portfolio for the US Southern Region.
What will you be doing
- Tank Assessment & Planning: Review API 653 Inspection Results identify corrosion mechanisms perform Fit-for-Purpose analyses and recommend targeted repairs to ensure long-term asset suitability.
- Project Scoping & Procurement: Develop robust Scopes of Work for RFPs review proposals and accurately evaluate bids for the maintenance of tanks ATG/OP and manifold piping.
- Financial Administration: Develop project estimates to support Long Term Planning (3YMP) manage requisitions in Oracle facilitate invoice approvals and actively control the annual Sustaining CapEx budget.
- Schedule & KPI Management: Oversee the development of tank schedules and progress reports monitoring terminal KPIs against global peers while maintaining continuous alignment with Operations and Commercial teams.
- Technical Compliance: Follow the Management of Change (MOC) process (including P&ID redlines) and maintain flawless terminal records using established document control procedures.
- Safety & Regulatory Execution: Independently research and incorporate best practices ensuring all assigned projects are in strict compliance with Company SH&E principles and Federal Regulations (e.g. RCRA).

Does this sound like you
- You have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or a similar technical field professional and intellectual level.
- You have 2-5 years of relevant work experience in Project Engineering and/or construction projects (2 years managing a Tank Maintenance Program with simultaneous tanks or engineering experience at a tank terminal/chemical plant is highly preferred).
- You are proficient in English (excellent oral written and presentation skills).
- You possess the strong analytical ability to read complex engineering specs government regulations and drawings and can translate these technical plans into easy-to-understand execution strategies.
- You are proficient with standard computer applications (Google Workspace PDF Editors) and possess familiarity with computer-based design software (AutoCAD Navisworks) to review engineering packages.
- You possess (or are able to obtain) a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and ideally hold an API 653 certification.
- You have the ability to travel occasionally (<20%) to the Corpus Christi site for project support with potential opportunities for international travel.

Work Environment
(Office AND Terminal Employee)
This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 104F (40C) and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 15F (-10C) in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds including fumes and smells some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employees must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk sit speak and hear. The employee is required to stand use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required on occasion to climb or balance stoop kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50 in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees may be required to travel by air rail bus or car.
