Program Summary
The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Armys mission to develop acquire field and sustain ground combat tactical and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness reliability and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations.
Under this contract personnel provide maintenance repair overhaul and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals safety standards and performance requirements.
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator / Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement storage and handling of materials supplies and equipment in support of TACOM sustainment and maintenance activities. This role operates forklifts and other material handling equipment supports inventory management and ensures materials are received stored issued and transported accurately and safely. The selected candidate will be responsible for receiving inspecting and verifying materials as well as transporting goods.

Roles and Responsibilities
- The Forklift Operator operates a manually controlled gasoline electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse manufacturing plant or other establishment.
- Transport parts tools supplies and equipment to designated storage or work locations
- Issue and distribute materials to maintenance and operational teams as required
- Maintain accurate inventory records logs and documentation
- Perform basic inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and audits
- Inspect forklifts and equipment prior to use and report deficiencies
- Follow all safety requirements traffic rules and loadhandling procedures
- Properly secure loads and ensure safe material movement
- Maintain clean organized and safe warehouse and storage areas
- Support packing labeling and staging of materials for shipment or transport
- Assist with material kitting and preparation for maintenance work orders
- Coordinate with supervisors logistics staff and maintenance personnel regarding material status
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred
- Typically 1-3 years of experience operating forklifts or performing material handling duties in a warehouse industrial or logistics environment
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Knowledge of safe forklift operation and material handling practices
- Ability to read and follow work instructions packing lists and inventory documentation
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation
- Ability to perform work in physically demanding environments
- Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required)
- U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting DoD Army or TACOM programs
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and warehouse operations
- Experience handling governmentowned property or sensitive materials
- Experience working in maintenance depots motor pools or industrial facilities
- Prior government contracting experience
The salary range for this position is $58700 - $88000. Compensation offered will depend on qualifications experience work location and business considerations. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. Additional compensation and benefits may be available based on role eligibility.
Additional Information
This position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing walking and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery tools fuels oils and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts overtime or weekend support based on mission needs.
