Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Onshore Wind Sierra Systems engineering team throughout the project lifecycle from concept design to product launch and beyond. Accountable for overall technical underwriting of designs in the area of Systems and escalates appropriately to Systems Chief Engineer (CE).
Set strategy and deliver improvements in engineering design practices to enable standardization in engineering execution to deliver high quality products and services.
Assist the design team in the optimization of wind turbine systems ensuring compliance with industry standards safety regulations and customer requirements.
Focal point for technology roadmap development for the Sierra Platform and ensuring technology innovation is ready for new product introduction.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement by staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Systems wind turbine technologies and industry trends.
Conduct risk assessments and lead teams in developing mitigation strategies to address technical challenges and ensure safe high-quality products and services. Own the full V-model development and mitigation throughout the full product lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D manufacturing operations and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration and successful design execution.
Foster a culture of collaboration knowledge sharing and professional growth through coaching & mentoring for controlled title holders and broader engineering team in your discipline.
Play a leadership role in relevant industry regulations and standards committees to influence strategy and outcome of standards.
Provide technical support and expertise to internal and external stakeholders including customers suppliers and regulatory authorities.
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of wind industry experience.
Eligibility Requirements:
The required work location is in Greenville SC.
Ability and willingness to travel between 10-20% of the time.

Extensive wind turbine design experience.

Experienced in wind turbine certification by third parties.
Demonstrated ability to successfully coach mentor and guide technical teams.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
