Job Summary

Position Summary

The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing implementing maintaining and improving manufacturing systems equipment and processes that support production operations. This role works cross-functionally with engineering manufacturing quality IT and operations to ensure production systems are reliable efficient and scalable while meeting customer and business requirements.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design develop implement and support manufacturing systems and production equipment.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend system improvements to increase productivity quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment automation and production technologies.
  • Troubleshoot hardware software controls and system integration issues affecting manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation process flow diagrams work instructions and technical specifications.
  • Support equipment validation commissioning and startup activities.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects and manufacturing process development.
  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance strategies and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Ensure systems comply with safety regulations industry standards and company policies.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel when needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment installation upgrades and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 37 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment automation and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs HMIs SCADA systems robotics or industrial networking is preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software and manufacturing documentation.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor aerospace medical device or precision manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 AS9100 or ISO 13485 quality systems.
  • Experience with automation integration and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and process capability studies.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand walk and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb ladders bend stoop and work around industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery noise and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites may be required.
  • PPE including safety glasses hearing protection and steel-toe footwear is required in designated production areas.
