We are hiring a Systems Engineer in Pittsfield MA to support the modernization of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS) for next-generation defense platforms. This role requires experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes systems integration requirements management verification and validation hardware/software integration and defense systems engineering supporting mission-critical strategic weapons technologies.
Responsibilities:
Support the development integration testing verification and validation of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS).
Manage system requirements technical documentation traceability and configuration management activities throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Coordinate hardware and software integration efforts including:
Test planning
Troubleshooting
Test execution
Reporting and analysis
Contribute to system architecture development engineering design reviews technical documentation and customer deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex technical and integration challenges.
Participate in technical reviews design reviews and engineering presentations with internal stakeholders and government customers.
Support engineering process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions to improve engineering workflows and system performance.
Support program execution activities within secure defense engineering environments.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or related Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience; or a Masters degree with 6 months of related experience.
Understanding of systems engineering principles technical standards and engineering lifecycle processes.
Ability to learn quickly and contribute within a collaborative engineering environment.
Experience supporting technical problem solving systems integration or engineering development activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Fire Control Systems (FCS) or strategic weapons systems.
Knowledge of systems engineering processes including:
Requirements management
Verification and validation
Documentation control
Configuration management
Experience supporting hardware/software integration troubleshooting and test execution.
Familiarity with systems modeling and requirements management tools.
Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams and technical design reviews.
Strong technical presentation and communication skills.
