Systems Administrator (Identity & Windows Infrastructure)
MinneapolisSt. Paul MN
$55 per hour for the well-qualified professional.

Hybrid: 2 remote days per week.

We are hiring a Systems Administrator to help keep identity access and core Microsoft infrastructure running reliably across on-premises and cloud systems. You will work with IT colleagues and business users on day-to-day administration incident response and routine maintenance. The role fits someone who is comfortable on the tools can troubleshoot under pressure and wants broader exposure across directory cloud identity and Windows services.

You will get to:

  • Administer Active Directory accounts groups and permissions and handle routine Group Policy updates
  • Support cloud identity platforms including Microsoft Entra ID and Okta
  • Help maintain SSO multifactor authentication and Conditional Access settings
  • Patch update and monitor Windows Server systems
  • Support Microsoft 365 and Exchange tasks such as user setup mailbox issues and mail-move activity
  • Maintain remote access services including RDS and VPN
  • Track certificates assist with renewals and resolve straightforward PKI problems
  • Watch system health investigate incidents and escalate when an issue is beyond the scope of this role
  • Write down configurations operating procedures and fix steps so the team can reuse them
  • Join an on-call or after-hours rotation when needed

What you should bring

  • Practical Active Directory and Entra ID experience (solid working knowledge not expert-level architecture)
  • Windows Server administration experience including a standard patching process
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Exchange Outlook and the basics of mailbox migration
  • Some hands-on time with an IAM tool such as Okta including SSO and MFA
  • Working understanding of remote desktop and VPN access
  • Familiarity with certificates and PKI concepts
  • Clear troubleshooting habits and the ability to explain issues to both technical and non-technical teammates

Preferred: some Microsoft Azure exposure prior support of enterprise users and shared infrastructure and comfort juggling tickets across more than one system at a time.
