ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction in performing various construction surveys and layout operations.

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM with Saturday as needed. The schedule may vary depending on weather and customer demand.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

1. Determine distances areas and angles of projects.
2. Establish reference points for both horizontal and vertical control.
3. Set stakes or otherwise marking lines grades and principal points.
4. Determine profiles of the ground along given lines (centerlines and/or cross section lines) to provide data for cuts fills and earthwork volumes.
5. Layout structures culverts and bridge lines.
6. Determine the vertical and horizontal placement of utilities State Highways City Streets and Bridges.
7. Record and store all data related to above.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational experience or other relevant job requirements)

1. Prior experience working on a construction surveying party.
2. Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction stakeout procedures and practices.
3. Ability to perform all aspects of data collection in field topographic surveys road frontage cross-section surveys and as-built surveys.
4. Through knowledge of total station GPS and data collection with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
5. Ability to work outside in all seasons.
6. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required.
