Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager with an active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license to lead our survey operations and manage a highperforming team of survey professionals across multiple locations. This role combines technical expertise people leadership and project oversight to ensure quality deliverables client satisfaction and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide daytoday leadership and supervision of survey staff including surveyors technicians and field crews
  • Manage workload planning staffing scheduling and project prioritization
  • Oversee and perform survey review calculations boundary analysis and QA/QC
  • Ensure compliance with state laws professional standards and company procedures
  • Serve as the responsible PLS on survey projects including signing and sealing plans
  • Coordinate with project managers engineers and clients to support project goals
  • Support staff development through mentoring training and performance feedback
  • Participate in hiring onboarding and team development activities
  • Assist with budgeting resource forecasting and continuous process improvement
  • Represent the survey department in internal meetings and client interactions
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in State (multistate licensure a plus)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive survey experience
  • Proven experience managing or leading a survey team
  • Strong knowledge of boundary surveys ALTA/NSPS surveys topographic surveys and construction staking
  • Proficiency with survey software and tools (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D Trimble Business Center Carlson or similar)
  • Experience repairing and reviewing Platts is preferred and not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a consulting or multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Familiarity with UAV LiDAR or advanced survey technologies
  • Prior responsibility for departmental operations budgeting or workflow improvements
  • Strong clientfacing and business development support experience
