This role is responsible for the safe handling cleaning processing and documentation of endoscopy equipment while promoting patient safety confidentiality and a positive patient ResponsibilitiesSupport the mission vision and values of the organization while providing safe compassionate and patient-centered physicians and clinical team members during endoscopy procedures by preparing procedure rooms providing necessary equipment and supplies and supporting procedural proper use and handling of endoscopy instruments devices suction equipment and related procedural disinfect process and maintain endoscopy equipment and instruments according to established policies procedures and industry room turnover and terminal cleaning of procedure rooms between cases and at the end of the accurate documentation related to equipment processing sterilization and required departmental OSHA AAMI AORN infection prevention and chemical handling guidelines to support a safe environment for patients and effectively with physicians nurses patients and healthcare team members to promote efficient workflow and quality patient privacy dignity and confidentiality while advocating for patient competency in required job functions and maintain knowledge of current procedures equipment and safety other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and & ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.1 year of experience in a GI surgical or procedural setting of OSHA AAMI and AORN standards and recommended practices for sterilization and disinfection & CompetenciesEffective communication skills with the ability to work well with patients physicians and healthcare team of endoscopy procedures equipment handling infection prevention and safety practices to follow established protocols maintain accurate documentation and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced attention to detail with the ability to maintain professionalism confidentiality and patient-centered to work independently and collaboratively as part of a Conditions Work is primarily performed in a clinical office setting and involves frequent telephone and in-person communication with patients and role involves continuous engagement and interaction with others and may involve occasional or frequent work environment reflects typical conditions found in a medical practice including exposure to standard clinical equipment patient interactions and administrative is potential exposure to common medical practice conditions including communicable diseases bodily fluids and chemical demands include walking bending reaching lifting up to 20 pounds stooping assisting patients and prolonged periods of position may also involve occasional stress due to multiple responsibilities and competing job description outlines the general nature and responsibilities of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties or requirements.
