Job DescriptionJob Title: Central Sterile TechnicianStatus: PRNHours: VariableReports to: Team Leader/ Surgicenter DirectorPurpose of Job: Responsible for reprocessing surgical instruments in a sterile manner and packaging appropriately for : High school diploma. Central Sterile Tech/Scrub Tech Certification one (1) year experience in a central sterile required within six (6) months of of operating room policies and of OSHA AAMI and AORN Standards and Recommended Practices for Sterilization and of surgical equipment and in instrument and equipment maintenance by effectively checking instruments autoclaves and supplies and stocking/repairing as Responsibilities: Supports the mission vision and values of the established protocols to maintain a clean safe environment for patients personnel and instruments by hand after surgical procedures are completed to prepare them for sterilization in the established protocols for preparing using and disposing of cleaning (i.e. wraps places in container etc.) instruments in appropriate manner to be placed in the autoclave or sterilized instruments in sterile supply room in appropriate area to be pulled for future supply and equipment repairs to appropriate accurate documentation on policies procedures and sterilization records as recommended by AAMI miscellaneous tasks and errands i.e. transport labs/specimens to other facilities time will be compensated when current competencies applicable to the and prioritizes tasks effectively with physicians nurses other health care professionals pertinent information and suggestions to team tasks by importance and employee handbook guidelines in regards to sick time vacation and dress Conditions/Physical Requirements: Primarily operating room setting.
