Job Summary

Surgical Technologist Operating Room

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support a high-acuity Adult Operating Room within a trauma and teaching hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties and be comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Schedule
  • Evening Shift
  • Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
  • Typical shift times may include:
    • 11:00 AM 7:30 PM
    • 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
    • 11:00 AM 11:30 PM
Required Certifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience within the last 4 years
  • Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center teaching hospital or comparable acute care facility required
  • Scrub experience required
  • First-time travelers considered only if experienced in facilities of similar size and acuity

Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures
  • Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures
  • Assist surgeons by anticipating procedural needs and passing instruments
  • Perform surgical counts according to policy and procedure
  • Ensure availability and functionality of surgical equipment and supplies
  • Handle specimens appropriately and according to protocol
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons anesthesia providers and nursing staff
