Role OverviewThe Surgical Technologist performs in the primary scrub role during complex open-heart and general surgical procedures. You will work alongside surgeons RNs and operating room professionals to ensure a sterile safe and highly efficient intraoperative environment.
Essential Responsibilities-
Scrub Role Execution: Function independently in the primary cardiac scrub role; actively assist surgeons with specialized tasks including central and femoral cannulation.

Sterile Field Integrity: Set up surgical instrumentation handle sterile equipment and maintain a constant watch to prevent any breach in sterile technique.

Safety & Compliance: Participate in pre-operative briefings time-outs and rigorous sponge needle and instrument counts throughout procedures.

Efficiency: Facilitate fast room turnovers perform light housekeeping restock supplies and pull case carts to maintain operational flow.

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.

Certification: Valid Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) required at hire.

Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-time current open-heart/cardiovascular experience acting in the primary scrub role.

Skills: Mastery of aseptic techniques deep knowledge of OR machinery and the ability to maintain composure during high-stress surgical events.

3 to 5 years of scrubbing experience across various surgical specialties in an inpatient/ambulatory O.R. environment.

Proven ability to manage sterile core areas reprocess complex instrumentation and handle inventory management.
