Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician 1-2 to join our team! We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home provided by a network of board certified physicians.GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent in this position willassist the nursing/medical staff by providing skilled technical assistance during major/minor diagnostic and/or surgical procedures at LSU Health- Lallie Kemp Medical Center in the Operating Room. The work schedule will be determined by the Department Manager.
- Minimum Qualifications
- One year of experience as a surgical technician; OR
An associates degree in surgical technology. - Job Specification

- Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments supplies and equipment for each procedure.
- Assist with patient preparation and positioning before surgery.
- Maintain aseptic technique and support the surgical team during procedures.
- Handle and track instruments needles and sponges according to safety standards.
- Clean decontaminate and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures.
- Restock supplies and report equipment needing repair or replacement.
- Assist with training new staff and supporting quality improvement activities.

Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Job Appointment.
Career Progression:This position may be filled as a Surgical Technician 1 or 2 depending on the applicants qualifications.
Work Location:This position is located in the Operating Room.
Work Hours: Shift will be determined by the department Manager.
Compensation:In addition to base pay compensation consist of Shift Differential pay as well as compensation for being part of an On-Call schedule.
