Job Summary

Job Title: Surgical Services / Operating Room Technician (Certified Surgical Technologist)

Location:Syracuse NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Technician / Certified Surgical Technologist for an Adult Operating Room assignment at a high-acuity teaching and trauma facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties and be comfortable working in a fast-paced Level I or Level II Trauma Center environment.

Schedule
  • Evening Shift Assignment
  • Rotating schedule including:
    • 11:00 AM 7:30 PM
    • 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
    • 11:00 AM 11:30 PM
  • Mix of:
    • 4 x 8-hour shifts
    • 4 x 12-hour shifts
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience (within the last 4 years)
  • Current Surgical Technologist Certification required
  • Recent experience in a:
    • Level I Trauma Center
    • Level II Trauma Center
    • Teaching Hospital
    • Comparable high-acuity acute care facility
  • Strong scrub experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted only if they have experience in hospitals of similar size and complexity
Required Surgical Experience

Candidates must have recent experience scrubbing the following specialties:

  • Trauma Surgery
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • General Surgery
  • ENT (Ear Nose & Throat)
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Gynecological Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Bariatric Surgery
  • Genitourinary (GU) Procedures
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures.
  • Set up instruments supplies and equipment according to surgical case requirements.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during procedures.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and infection prevention standards.
  • Perform surgical counts according to facility policies.
  • Assist with patient positioning and operating room turnover.
  • Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers nurses and perioperative team members.
