How youll contribute

A SSurgical Aide who excels in this role will:

  • Provide compassionate safe patient care under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN supporting patient comfort dignity and overall well-being.
  • Support surgical room readiness and turnover by cleaning sanitizing restocking and preparing rooms efficiently between procedures.
  • Assist with safe patient transportation and positioning following established clinical procedures and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean safe and orderly environment in assigned surgical and patient-care areas while following infection prevention and hospital standards.
  • Support efficient patient flow and surgical operations by promptly completing assigned tasks and responding to changing departmental needs.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and equipment by keeping shelves stocked and delivering necessary materials to surgical and patient-care areas.
  • Accurately transport specimens medical records imaging and other essential items between departments while maintaining patient privacy and safety.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses surgical staff and other healthcare team members using sound judgment critical thinking and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

What were looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Healthcare or hospital support experience preferred particularly as a Nursing Assistant Medical Assistant or surgical services support staff.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety comfort dignity and quality care.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and infection prevention with the ability to maintain a safe sanitary and orderly surgical environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with nurses surgical staff patients and other departments.
  • Critical thinking sound judgment and adaptability with the ability to prioritize tasks work with minimal supervision and remain effective in a fast-paced stressful environment.
