Surface Shift Supervisor

Description

A Surface Shift Supervisor supervises plant production crews and processes to produce quality products safely and efficiently. This position requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills effective communication skills and the ability to lead others.

JOB DUTIES

• Facilitate and enforce safety and performance initiatives for operations employees through safety meetings job observations policies and procedures and development and training opportunities.
• Understand and monitor operating parameters and environmental requirements to ensure the reliability and compliance of various industrial plant equipment including belt conveyors pumps screw conveyors product elevators product screens and air emission controls.

• Prepare operating reports (tons run tons produced down time maintenance etc.) and employee time records

• Assist with pre-shift inspections preventative maintenance and equipment cleanup to ensure all equipment operates safely efficiently and report any safety hazards to appropriate personnel.

• Assign work in accordance with customer and production requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Drivers License

• Minimum two (2) years of general labor and/or industrial plant experience.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to operate computer programs including: Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook and ERP System (Ellipse)

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
12-14 hour work days rotating shift schedule. Schedule subject to change.

• Outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment and subject to weather conditions

• Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing walking sitting talking or hearing making visual inspections making precise hand and finger movements twisting stooping crouching kneeling reaching or grasping
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders potentially work at heights and perceive color differences.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity.

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results have been received and cleared by Intrepid.
