The GET (Global Engineering Team) organization operates as one integrated team in the delivery of Engineering Maintenance and Execution Systems solutions. We operate in a standard coordinated and consistent manner in support of the current and future requirements of our Manufacturing and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and in partnership with key internal/external network.
The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for supervising a multi-craft team of maintenance technicians (mechanical electrical and instrumentation) in the execution of maintenance activities supporting manufacturing operations. This role focuses on the safe compliant and efficient execution of maintenance work ensuring equipment availability and supporting production objectives through effective team leadership and operational execution.
The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates day-to-day maintenance activities supports established maintenance programs monitors team performance and partners closely with Manufacturing Engineering Facilities and Quality to maintain reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises a team of multi-craft maintenance technicians and is accountable for conducting effective performance management coaching and development.
- Coordinates daily maintenance activities work assignments and priorities to support production schedules and business objectives.
- Ensures preventive and corrective maintenance activities are executed in accordance with established procedures schedules and compliance requirements.
- Monitors maintenance work execution and equipment performance escalating issues and risks to Maintenance Management as appropriate.
- Supports troubleshooting efforts and assists maintenance technicians in resolving equipment-related issues and restoring equipment to service.
- Maintains team productivity workflow and resource allocation to achieve operational and maintenance objectives.
- Ensures maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with cGMP safety environmental and company requirements.
- Reviews maintenance work orders and documentation for accuracy completeness and timely closure within the CMMS system.
- Supports investigations and root cause analyses related to equipment downtime and assists in implementing corrective actions.
- Partners with Manufacturing Engineering and other site functions to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
- Supports spare parts management by identifying inventory needs and communicating requirements to appropriate stakeholders.
- Assists with contractor coordination and oversight of maintenance activities performed by external service providers.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement within maintenance operations and communicates recommendations to management.
- Monitors team training compliance and supports the execution of department training requirements.
- Supports equipment startup commissioning and operational readiness activities as required.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering Science Industrial Technology or a related discipline required.
Equivalent combination of Associate Degree technical certification or licensed trade experience with relevant maintenance leadership experience may be considered.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience leading maintenance technicians work teams or maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices for manufacturing equipment.
- Understanding of cGMP requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across operations engineering quality and support functions.
- Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferably SAP.
Preferred:
- Pharmaceutical biopharmaceutical chemical or advanced manufacturing experience.
- Previous leadership experience in maintenance operations.
- Experience supporting facility startup expansion or commissioning activities.
- Lean Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma experience.
- Technical trade certification or electrical licensure.
Other:
- FPX certification and/or Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
- Electrical license/certification preferred (or ability to obtain required credentials within an agreed-upon timeframe).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (including off-shifts) to support business needs.
- Requires up to 10% domestic and/or international travel
