Supply Chain Intern, Forecast Planning

Internship Objective

Contribute to the development and execution of Excess and Obsolete inventory management processes while gaining practical experience in inventory strategy cost analysis sales and negotiation and cross-functional supply chain collaboration. The intern will help identify opportunities to recover value free warehouse capacity improve inventory controls and create a repeatable process for future use.

By the end of the internship the intern will:

• Develop a transferable Excess and Obsolete inventory management process and supporting standard operating procedure.
• Strengthen collaboration among Supply Chain Finance Manufacturing Warehouse and Sales partners.
• Deliver measurable progress toward an agreed inventory-reduction target and communicate results clearly.

Internship Responsibilities

Excess and Obsolete Inventory Management

• Develop and execute processes for managing Excess and Obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with Finance and Warehouse teams on plant- and network-level inventory strategy.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Sales through the Material Review Board and discount-outlet process.

Inventory Controls and Analysis

• Develop and maintain network inventory controls and targets.
• Analyze inventory health levels seasonality and new-product-introduction considerations.
• Identify opportunities to recover costs and free warehouse space.

Process Documentation and Reporting

• Create a standard operating procedure and repeatable process for future employees.
• Prepare a final overview of the implemented process results lessons learned and unresolved challenges.

• Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university with an anticipated graduation between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising senior or rising junior).
• Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Engineering Operations Business Finance or a related field.
• Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Project-management and organizational skills with consistent follow-through.
• Analytical problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Basic Excel knowledge is preferred.

As of the date of this posting a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience skills geography and may change over time.
