What youll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Press Parts and Structural Componentsis responsible forensuring that all sourced metal components including stamped parts welded assemblies and structural body elements meet Scout Motors quality timing and delivery requirements. This role partners with suppliers from nomination through SOP (Start of Production) and beyond to proactively manage quality risks develop robust manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Assessment and Selection:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of potential suppliers to assess their capability quality systems and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to select suppliers that align with our qualityobjectives.

Quality Assurance and Monitoring:

  • Establish andmaintainquality metrics forPress Part /Structurecomponents.
  • Monitor supplier performance through regular audits assessments and quality control inspections.

Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate quality issues related to suppliersutilizingroot cause analysis techniques toidentifyproblems and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and improve their processes.

Quality Documentation:

  • Develop andmaintainquality documentation including inspection plans control plans and work instructions specificto PressPart /Structurecomponents.
  • Ensure that all quality records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in supplier quality performance.
  • Facilitatetraining and workshops with suppliers to promote best practices in quality management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in product development meetings to provide input on supplier capabilities and quality considerations.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location inColumbia South Carolina
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Industrial or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 48 years of supplier quality experience in the automotive industry preferably with press parts and structural components.
  • Strong knowledge of stamping welding structural manufacturing processes and supplier quality systems.
  • Experience with APQP PPAP FMEA Control Plans MSA SPC and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 ISO 9001 VDA standards and supplier auditing.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier launches corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering Manufacturing Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $95000.00 - $120000.00
