What youll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Supportsupplier quality planning and executionof manufacturing assemblytechniquesand quality control processes from the advanced development phase to mass production using APQPand VDA quality management processes.
  • Supportallquality performanceandfunctionalstandardsto ensureallvehicleactivities are metin the supply chaintomeetCustomer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership at Suppliers to ensure Scouts Quality expectations are met and that suppliers can meet the industrialization related activities on time with the Supplier Qualityteam andescalate when unable.
  • Responsible for proactive and reactive containment atsuppliers.
  • Responsiblefor reviewingandparticipatein approval of necessary boundary samples appearance catalogs etc.
  • Responsiblefor ensuringchange management occurs and isidentifiedproperly and proactively for productarchitecturerequests.
  • Responsible for Supplier PPAPs and ongoing activities within the supply chainfrom development to series production.
  • Work as a partner with the Supply chain to ensure escalations of issues areraisedand resolutions areresolvedin a timely manner.
  • Lead supplier improvements in cost qualityand manufacturability.
  • Facilitate understanding of technical requirements between Supplierswith ScoutPurchasing Quality and Design teams toalways ensure proper transparency and communication.
  • Responsible for supplier audits and corrective actions to ensure their ability tomeet partperformance delivery and reliability expectations.
  • Collaborate with Scouts Design Quality and Manufacturing todeterminethe ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics.
  • Accountable forongoingmonitoring suppliermanufacturing process development launch readiness for new products and designchanges.
  • Responsiblefor drivingcontinuousimprovement activitiesutilizingLean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ensure suppliers haveexceptionally robust processes and procedures to promotemass industrialization throughefficient and seamless production of high-quality products.
  • Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they arecapable and robust using read acrossmethodologyfor similarmanufacturing lines and/or suppliers.
  • Facilitate newor alternative materialsfor thatwill positively impactdesignrobustnessquality manufacturability or costreduction.
  • Participate in supplierreviews including new suppliers and design formanufacturabilityreviews.
  • Support / leadsuppliers in efficient useof bestmethods of manufacturing testing and gaugingpoke-yokesand correct tools or assembly equipment touse.
  • Drive Quality improvements with EngineeringQualityand Operations to ensure Quality KPIs are met and drive to exceedexpectations.
  • Supportthe planningexecutionand evaluationof root cause analysis to ensure highquality ofScout production vehiclesthrough fast response methodologies.
  • Leadparticipateand drive Scouts Quality expectations astoensure KPIsaremet.
  • Act with dignity and respect on behalf of Scout when at a supplier.
  • Workto mitigate warranty claims with suppliers to drive closure and resolution of issueswith the cross-functional group.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments within Scout.
  • Support NCR resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood/Columbia South Carolina United States
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel required approximately40-70%of the time. Valid drivers license required. Passport required.

  • Bachelors or Mastersdegreein mechanical/vehicle engineeringindustrial engineeringor related fieldpreferred.
  • Experience in Quality Systems a plus: In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection;PPAP/APQP/ VDA processes
  • 4-8years of experience inAutomotive OEM or applicableTier Iexperience
  • Very goodtechnical understanding and sound specialist knowledge of vehicle developmentvehicleproductionand supply chain management.
  • Excellentoperations experienceandverygood understanding of the vehicleassembly/ functionality.
  • Greatwritten and verbalcommunicationsskills.
  • Sound knowledge of quality managementand methodologies.
  • VDA Auditing Experience preferred.
  • Understanding of safety requirements
  • Understanding of IATF VDA ISO DIN and regulatory requirements
  • Strong teamwork and communication skillsa high levelof assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills
  • Certification in AIAG Core Tools- MSA APQP FMEA Control PlansPPAP
  • Leadership and team management abilities witha track recordof building and leading high-performing teams
  • Proven resultsand abilityto direct supplier activities at the management level to ensuresuppliers canmeet customer requirements andexpectations.
  • Proven ability to execute project managementtechniques.
  • Strong technical writing abilityusing SPC and data analysis as well asan ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plainmanner.
  • Valid drivers license required.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $95000.00 - $120000.00
