Job Summary
Essential Functions |
Works with behavioral health leadership and certified peer recovery specialists to establish standards of practice for substance use navigators and offer recommendations on increasing organizational peer support capacity |
Uses innovative evidence-based and community-identified strategies to support certified peer recovery specialists to meet projected grant deliverables |
Develop and maintain knowledge of current trends and developments related to peer support; and acquires knowledge of emerging practices in the behavioral health field. |
Establish and implement communication strategies for the improvement and awareness of recovery navigator policies and standards. Report as necessary changes in standards and on performance against standards |
Assesses gaps in peer services and develops programs/trainings to meet the organizational need |
Responsible for supporting and training peer providers throughout the organization and will offer support and guidance on matters related to the peer recovery movement |
Work includes patient and family member relations education and advocacy activities |
May supervise other grant funded non-clinical staff |
Department Specific Job Function |
Create and maintain Navigator teams onboarding and training materials |
Facilitate the development of staff knowledge and competency in the area of recovery and peer support using their personal experience as a recipient of services for a mental health or substance use disorder |
Promotes recovery from substance abuse and/or mental health conditions; encourages employment and self-sufficiency education health and community integration |
Non Essential Job Functions |
Represents the agency in the community and exercises excellent communication skills tact professionalism judgment and courtesy in interactions with citizens agencies and government officials. |
Participates in external peer stakeholder meetings; advocating for effective recovery-based services |
Adjunct duties providing direct care will also play an integral role in this position. Services carried out in this capacity include monitoring support with daily living and assistance with basic physical financial social personal and recovery needs. |
