Our client is a global leader in the Food Processing & Agribusiness industry. Their operations focus on supply chain integrity animal welfare and operational excellence within the livestock procurement and processing sector.

This is a specialized training position designed to build foundational expertise in hog procurement operations. You will work directly within the livestock receiving alleys gaining hands-on experience in procurement logistics and supply chain management. This role serves as a stepping stone for career growth into full-scale Hog Buying operations.

• Livestock Handling: Sort count weigh and permanently identify livestock in accordance with strict segregation and quality programs.

• Operational Training: Participate in field training alongside experienced hog buyers to master procurement programs carcass merit and weight standards.

• Logistics Management: Coordinate and schedule livestock deliveries to the facility.

• Operational Support: Provide vacation relief for senior hog buyers and assist in maintaining daily buying procedures.

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture OR equivalent solid background in livestock production.

• Experience: Previous livestock handling experience is strongly preferred.

• Communication: Strong professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively in a high-pressure environment.

• Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy is required for tracking and reporting.

• Flexibility: Must be available for overnight travel as required for training and buying operations.

• Work Conditions: Ability to work in varying temperatures; must adhere to safety standards (hard hat steel-toe boots and hearing protection).

• Physical Tasks: Ability to stand/walk for the full shift and apply moderate to heavy force when assisting with livestock movement.
