Job Summary

This is a 24/7 operation and flexibility in shift scheduling and coverage are important components of this position. The selected candidate must have the ability to interact in a positive supportive manner whether explaining an event giving instructions or reporting policy violations.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must Have with Class B Commercial Driver License with Airbrakes and Passenger
  • Minimum 23 years of experience in transit operations safety video surveillance or investigations
  • Experience with video monitoring systems data transfer and event-based analysis
  • Knowledge of DOT FTA OSHA ADA and related safety regulations preferred
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL Class B with endorsements) preferred
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel Word Access) and database systems
  • Proven ability to analyze trends prepare reports and present findings
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced 24/7 operational environment
  • Conducting oral presentations relaying technical information in understandable terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.

  • Ability to work a very flexible schedule including early mornings late nights and weekends as required to adapt to the needs of the operation to ensure all Drive Cam coaching is performed within required CBA deadlines.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Drive Cam Program Leadership
  • Support the Drive Cam safety program ensuring effectiveness and compliance as directed by the Assistant Manager Safety Technology
  • Ensure all Drive Cam events are reviewed and coded within 24 hours
  • Conduct coaching sessions within 72 hours and maintain 90% effectiveness score
  • Identify high-risk drivers and behaviors; re-evaluate regularly
  • Develop and implement behavior-based safety campaigns and incentive programs
  • Present weekly and monthly program performance metrics to leadership
  • Coordinate re-training as required through re-training tracking mechanisms
  • Coordinate retraining and recommend corrective or disciplinary action as needed
  1. Video Surveillance & Investigations
  • Oversee downloading reviewing and analysis of all onboard surveillance footage
  • Support accident incident customer complaint and litigation investigations
  • Identify operators involved in events and document findings accurately
  • Work with law enforcement and internal stakeholders on video requests
  • Issue observation reports and support disciplinary processes
  • Provide timely accurate investigative reports and evidence documentation
  1. Safety Technology Systems Oversight
  • Ensure functionality and reliability of all onboard camera and Apollo systems
  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
  • Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of defects
  • Support installation replacement and upgrades of safety technology equipment
  1. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Analyze safety trends and develop actionable insights
  • Track and report program KPIs to leadership on a regular basis
  • Maintain accurate records of coaching investigations and system performance
  • Support safety meetings with presentations and data-driven recommendations
  1. Training Coaching & Collaboration
  • Deliver in-person coaching sessions using video-based feedback
  • Partner with Safety Training to deliver refresher and remedial training
  • Provide guidance to operations leadership on safety trends and risks
  • Promote a strong safety culture through continuous engagement and communication
  1. Operational Support
  • Assist with field response and onsite video support during incidents
  • Support a 24/7 operation with flexible scheduling as required
  • Manage multiple priorities urgent requests and deadlines effectively
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Mix of office and field environment including exposure to weather conditions
  • Extended periods of video review and computer use
  • May respond to incidents in the field and operate vehicles as needed
  • Requires flexible work hours including nights and weekends

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Exposure to loud noises fumes and airborne particles;

In addition to the above demands inherent in every role the following roles may entail unique physical demands including:

  • Operators/Drivers may work inside or outside vehicles and may operate vehicles for over 8 hours per day.
  • Operations Supervisors and Managers may split their work between an office setting looking at a computer screen/electronic device and active transit field locations driving in a vehicle.
  • Maintenance Employees may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in a ventilated maintenance shop and may work with personal computers laptops electronic hand-held devices complex electrical schematics diagnostic software and testing devices and other heavy machinery.
  • Office Staff may work indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities including offices and cubicle spaces equipped with a telephone and computer and may entail typing or looking at a computer screen.
