This position will oversee the Pharmacy Patient Specialists in the prior authorization and financial assistant roles.

• Accurately interprets processes and monitors medication orders issued by providers for contraindications interactions allergies and appropriateness.
• Prepares and dispenses medications for patients of all ages. Provides medication information counsels patients on the proper usage desired effects and potential adverse effects of medication. Performs inventory control measures during medication distribution and administration providing patients optimal medication resources in a timely manner.
• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal state and local laws and regulations the Compliance Accountability Program Code of Ethics as well as other policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• May include roles such as Pharmacist-in-Charge.
• Performs and evaluates functions related to clinical activities such as pharmacokinetics medication therapy monitoring medication information and educational programs. Monitors medication therapy including routine analysis of patients medication therapy medical problems laboratory data and special procedures as well as correlating these analyses with other clinicians responsible for the patients care to ensure patients receive the highest possible level of patient care.
• Takes an active role in development of continuous quality improvement activities reporting and evaluation of adverse medication events and promotes patient safety. Recommends changes within the department and facility to improve quality of care and services to provide evidence of value-added services within the Pharmacy department.
• Establishes operational and/or patient care delivery systems that ensure maximum resource utilization and financial performance for their assigned area of service. Assists with the budget process as requested.
• Coordinates staffing model that efficiently utilizes all resources to ensure maximum productivity and deliver high-quality patient-centered pharmaceutical care. Maintains master and daily work schedules for designated areas.
• Participates in multidisciplinary teams and committees to develop patient-centered services designs and implements corresponding programs and measure their effectiveness within the health systems goals related to cost quality and patient outcomes.
• Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Pharmacist - Board of Pharmacy active in state of practice Upon Hire

• Doctorate (PHD) of Pharmacy (PharmD)
• 4-6 years Retail Pharmacy Practice experience
