Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Supervisor youll help manage the team that keeps our locomotive fleet running safely and efficiently. Youll ensure compliance with FRA standards oversee maintenance schedules and troubleshoot technical issuesall while supporting a culture of safety and reliability.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Full-time (40 plus hours weekly)
• Varying schedule in a 24/7 work environment that includes nights holidays weekends and on-call
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Walking on uneven surfaces and climbing ladders and equipment always ensuring three points of contact in varying environmental conditions
• Working at elevated heights of 18 feet or greater while adhering to fall protection safety guidelines
• Frequent lifting of equipment and tools that could be up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to stoop kneel squat and twist as necessary while working on equipment
• Travel may be required and vary based on operational needs

Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience maintaining locomotives
• Knowledge of all aspects of the maintenance and repair of locomotives mechanical and electrical systems
• Knowledge of the safe handling and disposal of hazardous and nonhazardous waste products
• Effective computer skills (Microsoft Office applications reporting etc.)
• Knowledge of FRA regulations pertaining to locomotives
• At least 2 years as a supervisor is a plus
• Ability to train manage and supervise hourly employees
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other departments and supervisors
• Experience working in a safety sensitive work environment
• Possess situational awareness and decision-making abilities to respond effectively in a safety sensitive environment

Required Education and Credentials:

• High school diploma or GED; Associates degree in a related field is a plus
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid drivers license

Employment Requirements:

• Pre-employment physical hearing and vision medical review
• May be subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screening
• Background screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving history

Relocation:

Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.
