Supervisor, Landscape

Provides first-line oversight and guidance to operational activities of a specific group of people. Monitors employee performance of assigned tasks and may be authorized to make employment related decisions regarding the employees in the department.

• Monitors and reviews operations; inspects facilities; ensures any needed changes are made.
• Oversees and trains staff; assigns tasks and schedules jobs; monitors and evaluates performance.
• Oversees and verifies reporting of employee time sheets and other employee records
• Oversees specialized functions and day-to-day operations.
• Prepares and delivers daily activity summaries to supervisors.
• Provides guidance to staff on work-related questions; investigates and resolves employee concerns and problems.
• Researches and evaluates new landscape equipment products and materials; makes purchase recommendations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintains inventory of chemicals supplies and materials; issues these as needed.
  

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of relevant experience
• 1 year of previous supervisory experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license

Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel.
• The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel or crouch; and talk or hear.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and push or pull up to 250 pounds with appropriate tools or moving equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions chemicals fumes and airborne particles outdoor spaces and is required to climb ladders to access equipment in high and/or precarious places.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
