Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate or Bachelor degree in Health Information Management.
Experience: 3 years in HIM/medical records; 2 years experience in a leadership/management position.
Certification: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).

Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Experience: 5 years in a leadership/management position or 3 years in a Release of Information or Master Patient Index role in an acute care setting.

Other Skills Knowledge Abilities:
Technical Proficiency and Knowledge
o Thorough understanding of database and IT systems policies and processes.
o Extensive knowledge of health records EHR coding and billing.
Professional Competencies
o Advanced analytical problem-solving data analysis research and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated knowledge of coding guidelines and applicable federal/state laws and accreditation standards related to health information management.
o Attention to detail excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Self-starting independent highly motivated and organized problem-solver.
