Overview

As aSupervisor Central Communications you will play a critical leadership role within a fastpaced highimpact healthcare communications environment thatoperates24/7/365. This position serves as the operational leader for an assigned shift ensuring seamless delivery of emergency and nonemergency communication services that directly support patient care physician response and hospital operations.

In this role you will lead frontline communications professionals make realtime operational decisions manage escalations and serve as the shiftlevel authority during critical events. You will partner closely with Workforce Management Quality Assurance and operational leadership tomaintainservice continuity uphold quality and compliance standards and drive continuous improvement across Hospital Communications and the AfterHours Answering Service.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Certification/Licensure

  • Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) (Preferred)

  • Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC) (Preferred)

  • FEMA ICS courses (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory leadership for centralized emergency and nonemergency communications operations during the assigned shift

  • Monitor realtime performance staffing coverage and system functionality; manage escalations to ensure service continuity

  • Supervise coach and develop frontline team members to achieve performance quality and compliance expectations

  • Lead emergency communications including activation of emergency alerts physician paging and Emergency Notification System coordination

  • Partner with Workforce Management Quality Assurance and leadership to support standardized operations and continuous improvement

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for an experienced supervisor or team leader who thrives in realtime operational environments enjoys leading teams through complex situations and is motivated by work that makes a direct impact on patient care and safety.

Experience

Five (5) years of experience in emergency or nonemergency communications call center operations or ahigh-volume 24/7 operational environment including at least three (3) years in a supervisory lead or team leadership role
