Job Summary
The Supervisor Pipeline Operations is responsible for leading the safe reliable compliant and efficient operation of company-owned pipeline systems. This role provides leadership and direction to the Pipeline Operations team and plays a critical role in ensuring the day-to-day performance and integrity of the pipeline system.The position is also accountable for budget development and management workforce and contractor scheduling cost estimating and oversight of construction qualification and repair activities.
In addition the Supervisor Pipeline Operations partners closely with Land and other internal and external stakeholders to secure and administer agreements that support ongoing operations and future development. The role also serves as a key advisor to the Pipeline Manager on strategic initiatives connection requests system expansion opportunities and the evaluation of associated operational safety regulatory and compliance considerations.
This position plays an integral role in advancing operational excellence supporting business growth and ensuring the continued safe reliable and compliant operation of the pipeline system. The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to identify opportunities solve complex operational challenges and contribute to the long-term success of the organization.
This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to PHMSA-regulated employee requirements.
This position is based in Midland TX.
Candidates must currently reside or relocate within a 45-minute driving radius of Midland TX.
Position Overview
Responsibilities may include:
- Lead a diverse operations workgroup including Pipeline Operators Specialists and Area Leads responsible for daily operations routine maintenance chemical pigging paraffin pigging stagnant line management in-line inspections cathodic protection measurement activities project support and compliance management.
- Lead the Regulated Pipeline Program and serve as a strategic contributor to the L48 Regulated Pipeline Program.
- Collaborate across Asset Integrity Production Operations Base Engineering the L48 Regulated Pipeline group and other functional teams to achieve business and operational objectives.
- Demonstrate the ability to control costs develop and manage budgets and identify opportunities for financial efficiency across pipeline operations.
- Apply knowledge of DOT-regulated pipeline construction including installation practices cost management contractor oversight and job book documentation.
- Support area contract reviews including dedication agreements line crossings construction activities and supply chain coordination.
- Lead and support external and internal audits assessments inspections and communications with external agencies.
- Brief management on pipeline regulatory compliance status emerging risks and other pipeline-related issues.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve flow assurance and enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
- Serve as an active and visible safety leader.
- Demonstrate proficiency in emergency response incident command and incident investigation processes.
- Participate in Field Leadership Team auditing including Life Saving Rules verification during critical tasks.
- Respond to emergencies and first aid calls as needed.
- Manage data reporting and documentation to support program execution and compliance assurance.
- Leverage data to monitor program performance and prepare reports for internal and external compliance assurance.
- Manage compliance requirements and supporting documentation.
- Develop and implement new programs and procedures as needed
- Provide operational leadership and technical input for connection requests system expansion projects and other strategic initiatives including evaluation of safety reliability and regulatory impacts.

Basic Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Possess a current and valid drivers license.
- 10 or more years of oil and gas industry experience including gas or oil production gathering or related operations experience.
- 5 or more years of pipeline operations experience working with valve piping and pipeline equipment.
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience or a team lead
- Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Teams.
- Currently reside or be willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Midland TX.
- Willing and able with or without reasonable accommodation to be on call outside standard working hours.
- Willing and able with or without reasonable accommodation to travel up to 25%.
Preferred
- 7 or more years of pipeline operations experience working with valve piping and pipeline equipment.
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience.
- Intermediate Knowledge of Part 195 PHMSA regulations
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Intermediate proficiency in pipeline procedures policies and DOT regulations.
- Experience working with IT teams and/or data scientists to support data management and analytics initiatives.
- Basic understanding of engineering deliverables including Basis of Design documents facility layouts and P&IDs.
- Basic understanding of pipeline integrity programs and risk assessment techniques.
- Proven track record of controlling costs and managing budgets.
- Ability to manage a large volume of diverse tasks and priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Actively listens encourages new ideas and diverse perspectives and influences others to drive positive performance and results.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary internal and external teams to build consensus and alignment.
