About the role
An excellent opportunity exists for an Underground Mobile Maintenance Superintendent Asset Management to join our team in a local role based at our Salt Lake City operation. This position offers a broad and diverse scope of work where your ability to engage connect and positively influence stakeholders at all levels will be key to your success.
This is a valueadding role where you will help maximize the performance of the underground mine by implementing effective maintenance and asset management practices aligned to business priorities. Reporting to the Asset Management Manager Underground Operations your key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Leading diverse teams to achieve safety environmental and cost objectives
Taking a proactive approach to safety including participating in incident investigations hazard studies and safety improvement initiatives
Coaching mentoring and developing team members while fostering a culture of genuine care and accountability
Managing the asset management budget and operating plan to optimize cost and deliver key performance outcomes
Driving continuous improvement to enhance equipment availability reliability and productivity through best practice processes
Collaborating closely with Operations Contractor Management and HSE teams to achieve business objectives
Monitoring and analyzing performance data to inform decision-making and resolve operational issues
Supporting critical breakdowns and incidents outside of standard working hours as required
About you
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Bachelors degree technical qualification or trade certification in a related field
Experience in mobile maintenance and asset management practices with prior leadership experience
Ability to analyze data and make effective strategic and operational decisions
Experience monitoring managing and reporting performance metrics
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and functions
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to lead influence and motivate teams driving engagement and performance
Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of underground fixed and mobile equipment is advantageous

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class fully integrated copper mining operation including a concentrator smelter and refinery located just outside Salt Lake City Utah in the United States. We produce copper precious metals including gold and silver molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
