We are seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent II to oversee daily production operations in a food manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for driving production efficiency maintaining product quality ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a safe workplace. The ideal candidate will lead production teams optimize manufacturing processes manage workforce productivity and support continuous improvement initiatives while meeting company goals for quality cost and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities to ensure the timely manufacturing and shipment of high-quality products that meet customer demand.
- Monitor inventory levels and production schedules to maximize operational efficiency.
- Optimize production capacity labor utilization equipment performance and available resources to minimize downtime and waste.
- Achieve production efficiency targets of 93% or higher while maintaining accurate staffing levels.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to maximize equipment uptime and improve productivity.
- Promote and maintain a safe healthy and compliant work environment in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety training inspections hazard identification corrective action follow-up and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with USDA food safety sanitation HACCP GMP and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the production of safe high-quality food products that meet or exceed customer legal and regulatory standards.
- Supervise mentor and develop production supervisors and team members.
- Participate in recruiting hiring training coaching performance management and succession planning.
- Provide training on new equipment manufacturing processes food safety standards and operational procedures.
- Foster employee engagement accountability and continuous professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity quality waste reduction and cost optimization.
- Analyze production reports identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in budgeting capital expenditure planning manpower forecasting and facility planning.
- Maintain production documentation operational records and performance metrics.
- Facilitate effective communication between shifts and cross-functional departments to ensure operational continuity.
- Review daily production reports and communicate performance expectations and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance Maintenance Warehouse and Supply Chain teams to maintain efficient product flow.
- Promote a culture of teamwork transparency and operational excellence.
- Bachelors degree in Meat Science Business Administration Operations Management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing meat processing or a related production environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing production teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations food safety standards HACCP GMP and sanitation practices.
- Experience with production planning inventory management workforce scheduling and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership communication problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.

- Ability to stand walk bend and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height and below waist level as required.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures high noise levels and food production equipment.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection safety glasses and other safety gear as required.
