POSITION SUMMARY

The Resident Assistant lives onsite and serves as a mentor advocate and resource for Sunrise Lofts residents. This position supports residents as they transition toward self-sufficiency by fostering a safe welcoming and engaged community while promoting positive relationships among residents property management and resident services staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelors degree in human services Social Work Psychology Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.

Experience

• Experience working in community engagement residential services social services or customer service preferred.
• Experience with conflict resolution mediation or crisis intervention preferred.

• Experience working with diverse populations and community stakeholders preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with residents.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Knowledge of community resources and support services.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Working Conditions

• Position requires living onsite at Sunrise Lofts.
• Occasional evenings weekend and on-call responsibilities.

• Frequent interaction with residents staff and community partners.

Mental Demands

• Manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions.
• Maintain emotional control during crisis situations.
• Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
