Summer STE Curriculum Committee Positions (Gr 6-8 Science)

The Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District is seeking five middle school Science teachers (Grades 68) to participate in a Summer STE Curriculum Committee focused on curriculum alignment instructional planning and assessment development for the school year.

• Continue standards alignment work using the OpenSciEd MA progression
• Explore supplemental curriculum resources and teacher-created materials to support identified gaps in current curriculum
• Ensure instructional materials reflect district science instructional practices including:
• phenomenon-based learning
• student discourse
• modeling
• investigations
• formative assessment
• evidence-based reasoning
• Develop common unit and end-of-year assessments across grade levels

A primary goal of the committee will be the creation of common science assessments to support instructional consistency equity and collaboration across the district.

• Open to current Grades 68 Science teachers
• Summer work hours and meeting timeline to be determined
• Committee work may extend into the fall for continued collaboration and implementation support
