Job Summary

Dates and Hours:

July 6-23 (12 days no Fridays)

7:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m.

Up to 6 hours of planning per week

Maximum of 20 hours per week and 60 hours total

Position Summary:

The Summer ML/Reading Specialist will provide individual and small-group instruction to support students in reading and English language development. Instruction will be grounded in Science of Reading practices and aligned to students academic needs and language proficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted reading instruction focused on phonemic awareness phonics vocabulary fluency and comprehension
  • Support English language development across reading writing listening and speaking
  • Use assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction
  • Create an engaging well-managed learning environment responsive to student backgrounds and experiences

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a related field

Valid Massachusetts teaching license with ESL SEI Endorsement and Reading Specialist Endorsement

Experience providing ESL services and teaching Science of Reading strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in TESOL or Linguistics Fluency in Spanish

Compensation and Funding:

Position funded through Title I

Hourly Rate $90
