Job Summary
We are pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants for temporary Instructional Assistants for our Summer Learning Program. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team that supports the efforts of making success possible for all Redmond students.
Individuals selected will work to support the Summer Learning program with administrative assistant duties individuals and/or groups of 1st-6th grade students attending Summer Learning and certified teachers. Instructional Assistants will be under the direction of licensed educators supporting students in activities and lessons designed to develop literacy and enrichment.
Timeframe:
- Required professional development and planning includes:
- One (1) 7 hour session Thursday July 16 (school set up)
- Elementary Summer Learning will run FOUR weeks (Monday through Thursday);
- Week 1: July 20-23
- Week 2: July 27-30
- Week 3: August 3-6
- Week 4: August 10-13
- Student hours are tentatively 9:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
- Instructional Assistant hours are 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
- 7 hours/day
- Includes 30 min unpaid lunch
- One 10 minute paid break
Qualified candidates will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Hold a current IA position within the Redmond School District (K-12 grades)
- Experience building relationships with youth.
- Commit to continuous professional growth.
- Passionate for working with elementary age children.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support Summer Learning instructional lessons focused on literacy and/or enrichment
- Work with individual students in a classroom setting to support learning
- Work with small groups of students in supporting literacy
- Monitor/support student during transitions meals breaks and/or recess
- Before and after school supervising/monitoring of students
- Assist in administrative assistant duties for the overall support of summer learning
- Inventory and organize technology and instructional materials at the conclusion of summer camp

*Employees will be compensated at thecurrentInstructional Assistant II pay range (will be adjusted for COLA once bargained). Open to current RSD Instructional Assistants.
