Summer Food Service Worker (PT) Brooklyn (5 Positions)

EASTCONNs Food Services department was created in 2012 to meet our external and internal customers demand for exceptional food services. Backed by our experienced Food Service Coordinator Courntey Haines EASTCONN is able to provide a wide array of catering services a successful National School Lunch Program a School Breakfast Program and an After-School Snack Program and provide the districts with necessary supports for their food service programs.

Job Title: Food Service/Cafeteria Worker

Reports to: Coordinator of Food Services

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The job of the Food Service Worker was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the food service activities with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel operating the cash registers and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs a variety of tasks concerned with the preparation and serving of foods

Clean work areas equipment utensils dishes and silverware
Washes peels scrapes and cuts vegetables and fruits
Dishes out portions of foods on trays
Scrapes washes and sorts dishes glassware and silverware
Cleans kitchen equipment pots and pans counters and tables
Sweeps and mops floors
Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets
Inform supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly
Operate P.O.S. computer

Required for appointment:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years Food Service experience preferred. Experience with National School Lunch program and CACFP preferred. ServSafe Certified preferred.

EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent
