Overview of Role:
We are seeking a vigilant responsible and energetic Part-Time Lifeguard to join our summer this role your primary focus will be ensuring the safety of all pool patrons by preventing accidents enforcing facility rules and responding swiftly to emergencies. Candidates should enjoy working with children and young adolescents value community safety and possess strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Surveillance & Safety: Maintain constant alert surveillance of the pool and surrounding deck area; recognize and respond immediately to any signs of distress or emergencies.
Rule Enforcement: Fairly and consistently enforce all facility rules policies and local health regulations to prevent injuries and accidents.
Emergency Response: Provide immediate first aid CPR or AED support when necessary adhering strictly to your certification training.
Facility Maintenance: Conduct routine water chemistry tests clear debris from the pool organize pool equipment (kickboards lanes etc.) and maintain a clean tidy pool deck.
Reporting: Complete required paperwork daily including incident reports water testing logs and shift checklists
Minimum Age: Must be at least 15 or 16 years old (depending on local labor laws and facility policy).
Certifications Required: * Current Lifeguarding/First Aid certification (American Red Cross YMCA or equivalent).
Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to pass a pre-employment swimming skills test (e.g. 300-yard swim treading water brick retrieval).
Excellent vision and hearing to adequately monitor the pool area.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in various weather conditions (sun heat indoor humidity).
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills emotional maturity a high level of attentiveness and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Shift Availability & Compensation:
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: Mon-Fri 6/21-7/31 4p-6p with extra weekend shifts as needed
Pay Rate: $20/hour
