Summer 2027 Internship Construction Development Project Engineer Intern

The Development Project Intern will gain hands on experience assisting with the design preconstruction and construction activities on a given project(s).

The Development Project Intern will interact on a daily basis with Facilities Contractors Designers Engineers Commissioning Agents Vendors and Data Center Operations & Corporate Real Estate staff. The intern should have both written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication.

Responsibilities include but arent limited to:

• Assist Development team with day to day activities and responsibilities
• Assist in maintaining updated budgets schedules and status reports for a given project(s).
• Assist with updates on development program & project status on a monthly basis suitable for executive level reviews.
• Assist with entitlement and permitting needs for each assigned site project(s)
• Assist with scopes of work for design construction commissioning services & participate in procurement and project cost estimates
• Work with strategic procurement team on equipment procurement and delivery process
• Ensure appropriate submittals are coordinated with site stakeholders
• Assist with monitoring project budget / cost-to-date against overall project budget.
• Review project schedules change orders submittals and pricing proposals for design construction and commissioning services
• Aid in due diligence efforts on an as-needed basis by participating with real estate efforts on potential or new land banks and properties.
• Work with the internal development team to enhance project management processes and protocols

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Actively pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Must be a US Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTSs partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:

  • Auburn University

  • Kansas State University

  • Georgia State University

  • Southern Adventist University

  • Texas A&M University

  • University of Kansas

• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction or construction adjacent fields

• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics clubs volunteering part-time employment).
