Substitute Teachers

Durham Academy is accepting applications for highly qualified substitute teachers for Preschool Lower School Middle School and Upper School.

Responsibilities include

• Take attendance carry out lesson plans andmaintain classroom structure during teachers absence
• Work with students on academic tasks and adhere to normal school day schedule and responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with colleagues about students and curriculum
• Be familiar with expectations about student behavior and discipline and follow school procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a bachelors degree (preferably in education or related academic area) and experience working with children in an educational environment
• Must be dependable and willing to report for class assignment on short notice
• Should be familiar with online and in-person training and instructional techniques

Founded in 1933 Durham Academy is an all-gender independent day school with 1267 students in Pre-kindergarten through grade 12 on three campuses.
