Uwharrie Charter Academy is seeking dependable enthusiastic and student-centered Substitute Teachers to support our K12 students when regular teachers are absent.

As a substitute teacher at Uwharrie Charter Academy you will have the opportunity to work with students across our elementary middle and high school campuses while gaining valuable experience in a positive school environment.

Uwharrie Charter Academy uses Red Rover to manage substitute assignments. Once approved as a substitute you can:

• View available substitute assignments through Red Rover.
• Choose the days and assignments that work for your schedule.
• Accept only the jobs you want to work.
• View assignments and important job details before accepting.
• Build flexibility into your work schedule without a set weekly commitment.

• Provide a safe positive and productive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans and directions provided by the classroom teacher.
• Supervise and engage students in learning activities.
• Maintain classroom expectations and student behavior.
• Take attendance and complete other basic classroom responsibilities.
• Communicate any concerns or important information to the appropriate school staff.
• Support Uwharrie Charter Academys commitment to Relationships Rigor and Relevance.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Dependable professional and responsible.
• Ability to work effectively with students of different ages and learning needs.
• Must successfully complete required background screening and any other employment requirements.

Substitute teachers are not required to accept every assignment. Use Red Rover to view available opportunities and select assignments based on your availability and preferences.
