Position Overview

Substitute Teaching Assistants play a vital role in supporting student learning across the district. Working under the supervision of a certified teacher they provide instructional support and help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to individual students or small groups on specialized assignments
• Assist teachers by sharing observations that support instructional and behavioral planning
• Help students utilize instructional materials and assist in the preparation of learning resources
• Contribute individual skills (e.g. foreign languages arts crafts music) to enhance instructional programs
• Support a variety of classroom and instructional activities as needed
• Assist with student health-related tasks when appropriate
• Adhere to the West Irondequoit Central School District Code of Conduct
• Perform additional duties as assigned
