Substitute Nutrition Services (Pool) 2026-27 School Year

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Substitute Cook - Nutrition Services. This position assists in the preparation of school lunches cleans and washes dishes and other serving items maintains orderliness and cleanliness of kitchen area and cleans and maintains equipment on a daily basis.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications that support our district vision Every Student a Graduate Prepared for a Bright and Successful Future:

• Knowledge and understanding of HACCP;
• Experience in quantity food preparation;
• Familiarity with institutional food service equipment;
• Ability and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate respect for diversity;
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts;
• Steady dependable;
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with staff and students;
• Valid Oregon Drivers license.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and at least three months related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience; AND
• Current food handlers card from Lane County Department of Health.

Certificates Licenses Registration & Other Requirements

• Ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
