Position Summary:

Counseling In Schools (CIS) is currently seeking energetic dependable and youth-centered Substitute Activity Specialists to support our NYC after-school programs serving students in grades K8 throughout the school year.
Substitute Activity Specialists will lead engaging enrichment activities and provide a safe supportive and inclusive learning environment for youth during after-school programming. Candidates should have experience working with children and expertise in at least one enrichment area such as STEAM Leadership Dance Art Theater Gaming Anime Martial Arts Cooking Gardening Financial Literacy College & Career Readiness Double Dutch Girls Who Code or related specialties.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Leading engaging enrichment activities and lessons
Supporting youth development SEL and positive behavior management
Creating safe inclusive and engaging environments for students
Collaborating with after-school staff and program leadership
Maintaining professionalism and positive communication with students families and school staff

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth
Experience or training in a specialty area preferred
Strong communication and classroom/group management skills
Ability to adapt quickly and support diverse student needs
DOE and DOH clearance required


Compensation:

$20$35 per hour commensurate with experience
