Subject Matter Expert - Air Force Sustainment Engineering and Growth StrategyThe Senior Executive Advisor provides strategic leadership and advisory services to support business growth customer engagement capability development and investment planning across the Department of Defense marketplace. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership the position leverages extensive executive-level experience within the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Air Force Test Center (AFTC) and depot sustainment enterprise.
This position requires a retired Senior Executive Service (SES) leader with deep expertise in aerospace engineering software development and sustainment avionics engineering maintenance repair and overhaul activities acquisition logistics advanced manufacturing test and evaluation and technology modernization. The advisor will assist corporate leadership in identifying and shaping new business opportunities evaluating strategic investments aligning company capabilities with customer requirements and developing long-term growth strategies. Position is part-time with up to 25% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise executive leadership on Air Force DoD and defense industry priorities emerging requirements and market opportunities.
- Support identification qualification capture and shaping of strategic opportunities across AFMC and related organizations.
- Establish and maintain executive-level customer relationships while representing KBR at customer engagements and industry forums.
- Provide expertise in Air Force sustainment modernization engineering software logistics manufacturing and depot maintenance operations.
- Assess KBR capabilities and align them with current and future customer needs.
- Identify new mission areas growth opportunities and strategies to expand market presence.
- Recommend and support strategic partnerships teaming arrangements and business development initiatives.
- Evaluate and advise CAPEX and IRAD investments that strengthen technical capabilities and support long-term growth objectives.
- Assess emerging technologies and modernization initiatives including AI/ML digital engineering cloud services and advanced manufacturing.
- Provide independent assessments of strategic initiatives investments risks and growth opportunities while mentoring business development and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- Retired Senior Executive Service (SES) member or equivalent executive-level government leader.
- Minimum 30 years of experience supporting Air Force engineering sustainment logistics software development acquisition test or modernization activities.
- Extensive knowledge of AFMC and related organizations
- Demonstrated leadership of large technical and engineering organizations.
- Strong understanding of Department of Defense acquisition and sustainment processes.
- Experience evaluating strategic investments and technology modernization initiatives.
- Exceptional communication executive briefing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
