sUAS Technician

General Summary

COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join our Uncrewed Systems Department where you will participate in the integration maintenance training and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones

Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.

Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones integration and test and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies

Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills 3D printers etc.

Documents processes and build techniques

Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues

Participates in testing data collection and analysis

Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement

May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations

Travel for field testing and/or project meetings

May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage
