The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is seeking enthusiastic dependable and organized Studio Program Assistants to support artmaking workshops and classes offered through our Ford Learning Center. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and adults in creative learning environments while contributing to one of the nations premier art museums.

As a Studio Program Assistant youll help create an engaging safe and organized experience for participants by:

• Preparing studios and classrooms before and after workshops and classes.
• Maintaining clean organized classrooms supply rooms and shared workspaces.
• Assisting Teaching Artists during programs by providing encouragement and support to participants.
• Helping ensure a welcoming inclusive and safe environment for learners of all ages and abilities.
• Supporting off-site artmaking programs with community partners throughout the Kansas City area.
• Managing your work schedule and communications using Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
• Collaborating with museum colleagues to deliver exceptional educational experiences.
• Performing other duties that support the Learning & Engagement Division and the Museums mission.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional service.
• Willingness to work with diverse audiences in a creative learning environment.

• Experience working with children youth or diverse public audiences.
• Experience in educational museum arts recreation or community-based programs.
• Interest in art creativity or museum education.

This is a non-exempt position. Work hours vary based on museum programming and may include days evenings weekends and holidays. The position may involve lifting up to 20 pounds and working in active classroom and studio environments.
